Missing Channels on Your DISH Hopper

Hi, I’m Ryan. If a channel is missing from your guide or if entering a channel number with your remote brings up the wrong channel, this video is for you. If you’re experiencing another issue, check out our other support videos on YouTube or mydish.com for assistance.

Press the Guide button on your DISH remote.

When you see the channel guide, make sure the list says, “All Subscribed”. If it doesn’t, your guide may only be displaying channels in a created Favorites list or showing all unsubscribed channels.

To fix this, press the Options button on your remote. Or press the red button if your remote looks like this.

Then choose the “All Subscribed” option.

If you still don’t see your channel, ensure that the channel you’re trying to find is included in your programming package. You can do this by viewing your customized channel lineup in the MyDISH app. If desired, you can make changes to your programming directly in the app.

If you recently changed your subscription or added programming, please keep in mind that new channels can take up to 15 minutes to appear.

You can also view the programming included in your package by downloading a program guide at mydish.com/programmingguides.

If the problem remains, a simple power reset will fix most technical issues.

To perform a power reset, unplug the receiver from the power outlet for 10 seconds, and then plug it back in. The power cord usually has a red tag, so you can easily identify it.

If you are still experiencing an issue, please chat with us online at mydish.com/chat or call us at 1-800-333-3474. Together, we’ll get you back to enjoying your favorite shows in no time.

Even if your receiver isn’t working, you can still enjoy thousands of On Demand shows and movies on your computer, tablet, or phone. Simply visit dishanywhere.com or download and use the DISH Anywhere app.

Thanks for joining me, and I’ll see you next time.

To begin, look at the front of your DISH receiver. If there is no green light, make sure the receiver is plugged in, and then press the Power button on the front panel. Your TV should also be powered on.

Next, determine if the channel guide will display by pressing the SAT button, followed by Guide button on your DISH remote. The SAT button may be on the side of your remote or along the top, depending on your model. If the guide appears, check out this video for more help.

If the guide doesn’t appear, check to make sure your video cable is securely connected to both your TV and your receiver.

Next, set your TV to the correct input by pressing the Input or Source button on your original TV remote or on the TV itself. Press this button repeatedly, pausing for five seconds between each press to see if anything appears onscreen. Once you find the correct input, write it down for so you can easily get back to it in the future.

Troubleshoot Signal Loss

Hi, I’m Nadine. Let’s troubleshoot the signal loss problem you’re experiencing with your Hopper.

Before we get started, please ensure that you see code 015, 002, 004, or 535 in a popup in the upper-right corner of your screen. If you do not see one of these codes, but you have a black screen, check out this video to help resolve the issue. If you’re experiencing another issue, check out our other support videos on YouTube or mydish.com for assistance.

Let’s start troubleshooting.

First, have you moved your receiver for any reason? If so, move it back to its original location and ensure all cables are connected correctly to your receiver and TV, so you can get back to watching your shows. If you want to move your receiver to a new room, give us a call at 1-800-333-3474 and we’ll get one of our techs to come out and help.

Another common cause of signal loss is an obstruction between the satellite dish and the sky, such as trees, a new building, a bird’s nest, or snow. If there is an obstruction on the dish itself, removing it should fix the problem. Only do this if it’s safe. If you don’t feel comfortable removing an obstruction, contact us at 1-800-333-3474.

Is there severe weather in your area? Sometimes this can temporarily interrupt service until the weather clears. In the meantime, you can watch recordings on your DVR, if you have one, as well as On Demand shows and movies if your receiver is connected to the internet.

If the problem remains, a simple power reset will fix most technical issues.

To perform a power reset, unplug the receiver from the power outlet for 10 seconds, and then plug it back in. The power cord usually has a red tag on it, so you can easily identify it.

If you’re unable to easily reach your power cord, press the Reset button on the front of the receiver or hold down the power button for 10 seconds.

It is also a good idea to confirm that the wiring from your Hopper to the wall is connected properly.

If you are still experiencing an issue, please chat with us online at mydish.com/chat or call us at 1-800-333-3474. We would be happy to help you, and together, we’ll get you back to enjoying your favorite shows in no time.

Troubleshooting Your Hopper Not Turning On

Hi, I’m Nadine. If your DISH Hopper won’t turn on, then this video is for you. If you’re experiencing another issue, check out our other support videos on YouTube or mydish.com.

To start, check that your receiver’s power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet and tightly connected to the back of the receiver. If your power cord is plugged into a power strip, ensure the strip is turned on.

Once you’ve confirmed your receiver is connected to a working power source, look for a green light on the front of the receiver to indicate that it’s on.

If you don’t see a light, ensure that your receiver has proper ventilation to avoid overheating or it may not turn on. Your receiver should not be enclosed in a cabinet, and there should be at least four inches of space between it and other electronic devices.

If the problem remains, a simple power reset will fix most technical issues. To perform a power reset, unplug the receiver from the power outlet for 10 seconds, and then plug it back in. The power cord usually has a red tag on it, so you can easily identify it.

If you are unable to easily reach your power cord, press the Reset button on the front of the receiver or hold down the Power button for 10 seconds.

It’s also a good idea to confirm that the wiring from your Hopper to the wall is connected properly.

If you are still experiencing an issue, please chat with us online at mydish.com/chat or call us at 1-800-333-3474. We’d be happy to help you, and together, we’ll get you back to enjoying your favorite shows in no time.

Even if your receiver isn’t working, you can visit dishanywhere.com or download the DISH Anywhere app to watch shows on your computer, tablet, or phone.

Thanks for joining me, and I’ll see you next time.

DISH Products: TV Made Easy

Check Out DISH’s Voice Remote

Hi, I’m Nadine.

DISH’s voice remote was designed to simplify your TV experience with your Hopper or Joey receiver. Let’s go over a few features that will allow you to get the most of your DISH service.

Voice control is one of my favorite features of this remote. That’s because all I have to do is speak a voice command to do pretty much anything I want with my receiver.

To use voice control, press and hold the voice button. If this is the first time you’re using voice control, follow the onscreen prompts to enable the feature, and then press the voice button again.

If you want to find something, say a show or movie title, actor, or sports team, and then release the voice button. Your receiver will take you to the content directly or display a list of results – simply choose the one you want!

You can also use voice commands to quickly jump to favorite parts of your receiver. For example, if you have a Hopper 3 or Hopper with Sling, just say “Open Netflix” to open the Netflix app or “YouTube” to open the YouTube app. Or say “Go to On Demand” to find great movies and shows.

Or you can say a specific channel like “ESPN” or “Hallmark” to be taken directly to that channel.

Since the Google Assistant is built-in, you can also use voice commands to find the weather or traffic in your area. Manage tasks like adding appointments to your calendar or items to your shopping list. Or get information on an actor, the score of the game, recipes, and more. You can even turn on the smart-home devices like your living room lights.

Press and hold the Back button to get back to live TV from any menu. Or press and hold the Info button to get help on any screen.

Another handy feature of the remote are these diamond buttons at the bottom, as they let you perform shortcuts in just a click. Press and hold the diamond button, and choose what you want to do with it from the list onscreen.

You can turn closed captioning on and off, launch Netflix, turn on Picture-in-Picture, and more.

Finally, if you ever lose the remote, you can easily find it by pressing the Locate Remote button on the front of your receiver. Just follow the beeping sound to find it!

Just a friendly reminder that your receiver needs to be connected to the internet to enjoy voice control. For a full list of commands, visit dishvoiceremote.com.

Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you next time!

Check Out Over-the-Air Technology

Hi, I’m Nadine. At DISH, we believe in giving our customers choices about all of the ways you can watch your shows. So, in this video, I’m going to talk about how you can view high-definition network TV shows, news, and sporting events on broadcast networks with no monthly fees.

Traditionally, many consumers get broadcast networks through their pay-TV provider, like DISH, to watch network TV shows or sporting events like NFL games. However, you can watch programming on broadcast networks with no monthly fees from your pay-TV provider with over-the-air, or “OTA,” technology.

So how does OTA work, exactly?

Well, large towers broadcast local channels wirelessly to an entire city or region. An over-the-air antenna will pick up this signal and deliver crystal-clear HD programming right to your TV. Note that programming varies depending on the local channels available in your area.

By purchasing an OTA antenna and connecting it to your TV, you can view broadcast networks by switching TV inputs.

If you have a Hopper with Sling, Hopper 3, or Wally receiver, you can create a more seamless viewing experience by purchasing an OTA adapter from DISH to get broadcast network channels incorporated right into your programming guide. This means that you don’t have to switch inputs to view your broadcast networks, and you can still record your shows on these channels as usual.

We recommend speaking with a DISH representative by calling 1-800-333-3474 to determine if an over-the-air solution is right for you, and if so, discuss programming options that will complement this solution.

Thanks for joining me, and I’ll see you next time.

Hey, I’m Nadine. One of my favorite Hopper features is Game Finder because it lets me see what’s happening in all of the games that are important to me. From seeing scores and stats to finding out which games are the most exciting, I can keep up with all of the action in any sport I want.

Let’s start with the basics. To access Game Finder on your DISH Hopper, press the Home button twice on your remote. Or press the Menu button if your remote looks like this.

Select “Apps” and then “Game Finder.” Your receiver doesn’t need to be connected to the Internet to launch Game Finder; however, you will have access to additional features if you do like checking important game stats.

Once Game Finder opens, you can see all of the games on today. You can also see what games will be on for the next three days.

See a game you want to watch? If it is on in the future, you can record it.

Or if the game is on now, you can watch it without ever leaving the app. You can also easily switch between games right in the app, so you can keep up with all of them. Pretty handy if I do say so myself.

If you want a truly customized experience, you have the option of choosing your favorite sports and teams to display on the homepage. At the top of the screen, select My Sports, Settings, and then the desired option. Once you save your selection, they will take effect on the home screen.

Hi, I’m Nadine. One of the features I love the most on DISH’s Hopper 3 is MultiView because it lets me watch four different channels at the same time. Let me show you how to enable this awesome feature.

When viewing live TV, press the Options button on your remote, and then select “Picture in Picture.”

Scroll to and select “MultiView.” Your screen will display the last four channels you have watched. Press the arrow button on your remote control to move the red highlight to the programming you want to hear.

If you want to go back to viewing just one channel, then highlight the channel you want to tune to and press “Select.”

If you’re digging this view and want to customize your experience, then you have the option of changing programming to view any four shows of your liking. Highlight the program you want to change, and then tune to the channel you want by entering the channel number using your remote.

If you’re not sure what channel your show’s on or if you want to browse, press the Guide button on your remote to see what’s on and select a program. You can also play a recording from your DVR.

Or you can choose from one of the thousands of On Demand programs available on your Hopper. The possibilities are practically endless!

If you’re a college sports fan, tune to channel 151 to view up to six collegiate games at one time.

Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you next time.

Watch 6 College Games on One Screen

Hey, I’m Nadine. Here’s how to access DISH’s College Sports MultiView app on your Hopper, so you can watch six feeds of college sports across America.

Enter 151 on your remote and the College Sports Multiview will load.

Up to six games will display. If desired, watch them all at the same time. Or you can arrow to and select the channel you want to watch.

Don’t forget that you can find all of your sporting events with the Game Finder app on your Hopper.

Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you next time.

Find Your Game on Your Hopper

Hi, I’m Nadine.

When I need to find what channel my game is on, I use the Search feature on my Hopper. It’s fast and easy – and I can find what I'm looking for in a matter of seconds. Let me show you.

If you have a voice-activated remote, click the microphone button, speak the desired sport or your team’s name, and then choose the desired result. You can also enable a text search by pressing the Options button on your remote.

If your remote isn’t voice-compatible, press the Search button.

You can see that football will automatically populate at the top of the list. Click that option to be directed to a full schedule of games.

Or enter your team’s name using the arrows on your remote to select letters on the keypad. As soon as you enter a letter, results will start filtering. Typically, you can find what you’re looking for within three button clicks.

Once you find and select your team, you can record all games, set a reminder to be notified when they are playing, see their upcoming schedule, and more!

If you want to browse games that are on today or in the near future, there are a couple of options.

Press the Home button on your remote or, if your remote looks like this, press the Menu button and then select the Home tab. Here you will see the games that are on today. Or you can see what’s coming up in the next nine days in your guide.

Look to channels 2 through 70 for sports on local networks, 140 through 159 for national sports, and 404 through 412 for regional sports. Channel availability depends on your programming subscription. View your customized channel lineup by downloading and logging in to the MyDISH app.

DISH Billing Basics

How to Pay it Your Way

Hi, I’m Ryan.

At DISH, we know there’s not a one-size-fits-all solution for paying your bill. That’s why we have options, so you can choose the one that’s most convenient for you. Check out these four great ways to pay!

Log in to your MyDISH account online or through the app to access two of the most preferred ways DISH customers like to pay their bill.

The first and easiest way is AutoPay, which is a service that automatically deducts your payment from your card or bank account on your billing due date every month. You’ll never have to worry about remembering to make a payment or late fees again!

You can also make a one-time payment through your account in just a few clicks!

Or you can also make a payment from your phone. Simply text “PAY BILL” to 34741. Be sure to send the text from the phone number associated with your DISH account.

If needed, add an additional phone number to your MyDISH profile. Message and data rates may apply.

You can also call 1-800-333-DISH and follow the automated prompts. Be sure to have your account number handy if you’re calling from a phone that’s not associated with your account.

To take the hassle out of paying your bill, all of these convenient payment options are integrated right into DISH’s eBill.

Sign up for eBill through your account online at mydish.com or through the MyDISH app.

Explaining DISH's eBill

Hi, I’m Ryan.

The last thing you want is for your DISH bill to be complicated, right? That’s why DISH makes it simple with our eBill. Ditching your paper bill is environmentally friendly, plus you can view your billing details and make a payment directly from your eBill. Let me show you!

Your eBill will arrive days before you would get your paper bill, which means that you can see how much is due and when it’s due, sooner. Use that extra time to plan and make a payment when it fits into your schedule.

Or better yet, click this link to sign up for AutoPay through your mydish.com account, so you can pay on time, every time.

You will need to log in to your mydish.com account. If you don’t have one, click this button and follow the onscreen prompts to easily create one.

Once you’re in your account, select the My Preferences tab. Then enter your card or bank account info to have payments automatically deducted on your bill due date each month. You’ll never have to worry about late fees again!

If you have a balance on your account, you’ll need to pay it in full before enrolling in AutoPay. If your current balance is paid, keep in mind that it can take up to four days for AutoPay to take effect. Once you’re enrolled in AutoPay, you will see this icon indicating that it is “on” when you get your next eBill.

If AutoPay isn’t right for you, look to the Pay it Your Way section for other convenient ways to pay your bill.

The fastest, easiest way is through the MyDISH app. Don’t have it yet? Download it now from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

You can also pay online by clicking this link. Just enter your four-digit security pin and you will be directed to make a payment from your mydish.com account.

Or select the text or phone option to make a payment through one of those methods on your phone.

Scroll down to find a summary of your charges. Click this link ("view bill details") to be directed to full billing details.

Explaining Prorated Charges and Credits

Hi, I’m Ryan. DISH has a large selection of core and add-on packages that you can easily add or remove from your programming lineup through the MyDISH app or by logging on to your mydish.com account.

Depending on when you make a programming change, prorated charges or credits may be added to your next bill, which might make it higher or lower than you’re used to paying. Let’s take a closer look at how prorated charges and credits work.

The key to understanding prorates is to know that DISH bills in advance in for your service. That means that any programming change you make during your current billing cycle will result in credits or charges on your next bill, depending on whether you remove or add a service.

So, let’s say your billing period starts on the first of each month and ends on the last day of the month. On October 15th, you upgrade your package from America’s Top 120+ to America’s Top 200 through the MyDISH app.

You were already charged for your October services before you upgraded your programming package, so you’ll see a prorated charge for adding AT 200 and a prorated credit for removing AT 120 from October 15th through October 31st on your November bill. You’ll also see charges for AT 200 for the entire month of November on your bill.

If you remove or downgrade programming, you will see a credit on your next bill, starting from the date you removed or downgraded the service and through the rest of the billing cycle.

I hope this helps you better understand prorated charges and credits! Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you next time.
